Diddy’s Attorney Pushes Back Against Sex Trafficking Claims in Trial
Diddy is facing serious charges, but his lawyer says the government is twisting the facts. Criminal defense attorney Teny Geragos is making it clear: this case is not about crime. It is about “messy relationships” and adult choices.
Teny opened the trial with a bold statement: “Sean Combs is a complicated man, but this is not a complicated case.” That line landed. She says the real story is not about trafficking or coercion. It is about jealousy, money, and consent. She is arguing that the government is blowing up personal drama into federal crimes.
Geragos, who comes from a famous legal family, is not new to big cases. Her dad, Mark Geragos, has defended everyone from Michael Jackson to the Menendez brothers. But now it’s her name making headlines. She joined Diddy’s legal team after his arrest last fall and quickly became a force in the courtroom.

She is not just riding her father’s legacy. Teny worked for years at Brafman & Associates, then helped launch a new firm, Agnifilo Intrater. She is on the board of the New York Criminal Bar Association and is licensed in both New York and California. She’s smart, sharp, and totally at ease in high-pressure trials like this one.
From the start, Geragos has attacked the government’s framing. She says prosecutors are turning consensual acts into criminal charges. According to her, things like polyamory and “freak-offs” might sound wild, but they aren’t illegal. She’s trying to pull the case back into reality and out of the headlines.
Diddy is charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting people for prostitution. These are heavy charges. If convicted, he could face decades behind bars. But Geragos says there’s no proof of force, fraud, or coercion, which are required for these crimes.
She has been especially tough on the prosecution’s key witness, known only as “Jane.” Geragos cross-examined her hard, pointing to texts and actions that suggest Jane was in control. Jane reportedly accepted a $10,000 monthly allowance, a home in Los Angeles, and stayed involved in Diddy’s life even after alleged abuse.

Diddy’s Attorney Finds “Gaps” in Jane’s Story!
The defense’s angle is that Jane’s story has gaps. Geragos pointed out texts where Jane showed jealousy about other women. That, she says, doesn’t line up with someone who was being exploited. It looks more like a bitter ex trying to rewrite the past.
She says jurors are being bombarded with tabloid noise instead of facts. No minors were involved, no sex tapes have surfaced, and no evidence supports the worst accusations.
Geragos is telling jurors to block out the headlines and look at what is in front of them. She says this case is about adult choices, not criminal acts. It may not be pretty, but that doesn’t make it illegal.
The trial has had its share of drama outside the evidence, too. Prosecutors tried to remove Juror #6, saying he wasn’t being honest during selection. The defense called that move unfair and warned it could tip the case. Jury makeup matters, and both sides are watching it closely.
